Melbourne Storm
The Melbourne Storm, led by Craig Bellamy, has been a top-performing team since their inception in 1998. The Storm have won 4 premierships in five years from 2007. They also won minor premierships in 2006. The Storm’s highest winning margin, which they achieved twice, is 64 points. Checking these winning statistics is essential when you bet on NRL matches.
The Storm have had a terrific mix of experienced leadership and young talent, with players like Cameron Smith and Billy Slater playing essential roles in their success. They’ve also made significant investments in their youth system, which has produced several outstanding players in recent years.
Brisbane Broncos
Coming in second to Melbourne Storm, the Brisbane Broncos have an extraordinary record ever since their inception. The Broncos have won six premierships from various clubs; three are from NRL, two from New South Wales Rugby League, and one from Super League. They also won four minor premierships, making them one of the most successful teams ever.
It’s also good to note that the Broncos have never received a wooden spoon. It is an excellent indicator that they are indeed one of the best. Their stability and competitiveness throughout the years demonstrates the club’s capacity to sustain a high level of performance.
Sydney Roosters
The Sydney Roosters, under the leadership of head coach Trent Robinson, have been consistently successful in the NRL. They reached the finals series in 18 out of 25 seasons and participated in eight grand finals, winning four premierships. Despite a few lean years in 2009 and 2016, the Roosters’ overall performance over the past 25 years has been remarkable.
This consistent competitiveness and ability to challenge for titles yearly demonstrate the Roosters’ solid performances and status as one of the most successful clubs in the NRL era.
Manly Sea Eagles
The Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles have made the finals in 13 of the last 25 seasons, winning four grand finals and two premierships.
Between 1999 and 2004, they failed to score more than 24 points for six straight seasons. However, as competitive as they are, they have turned their fortunes around under the leadership of Des Hasler and Geoff Toovey in 2004.
The Sea Eagles had an incredible run between 2006 and 2014, finishing with 30-plus points in eight of nine seasons. During this time, they enjoyed significant success. They won two premierships, demonstrating the Sea Eagles’ strength and resilience as they established themselves as one of the top-performing clubs in the NRL.
St. George Illawarra Dragons
The St. George Illawarra Dragons have had ups and downs in the NRL. They have reached the finals series 12 times in 24 seasons, winning two grand finals and one premiership. They experienced a comeback under coach Wayne Bennett and won their first title in 2010.
However, following Bennett’s departure in 2011, the Dragons have struggled to retain their success, with only two finals appearances in the previous 11 seasons. Despite their inconsistencies, they have avoided wooden spoons and are still a team to be wary of.
South Sydney Rabbitohs
The South Sydney Rabbitohs are a professional rugby league team based in South Sydney, Australia. With 21 premiership triumphs, they hold the record for the most premiership victories in NRL history. They won their most recent title in 2014, defeating the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in a thrilling grand final.
The Rabbitohs have routinely performed well and have appeared in the finals series, reaching the final four for the previous five seasons in a row. The team is also determined to build on their previous accomplishments and win another premiership under coach Jason Demetriou, who took over in 2022.
North Queensland Cowboys
The North Queensland Cowboys are an Australian professional rugby league based in Townsville, Queensland. They were founded in 1995 and have since become a famous NRL team.
