Mậu Binh Card Game Rules: How to Arrange 13 Cards Correctly

Learning the rules of Mậu Binh starts with understanding how to arrange 13 cards into three separate hands. Unlike games such as Tiến Lên or traditional Poker, Mậu Binh is mainly about creating the strongest possible overall arrangement while making sure the three hands follow the required order.

In game bài Mậu Binh, every player receives 13 cards and divides them into three hands containing five, five and three cards. The challenge is not simply finding strong combinations. Players must distribute their cards carefully because an incorrectly ordered arrangement can make the entire hand invalid.

Understanding hand rankings, card distribution and comparison rules provides a solid foundation before playing a round.

Mậu Binh Rules: Dividing 13 Cards into Three Hands

Each player receives 13 cards that must be separated into three hands:

• The back hand contains five cards and must be the strongest.
• The middle hand contains five cards and must be weaker than the back hand.
• The front hand contains three cards and must be the weakest.

The strength of these hands must follow the correct order. If the middle hand is stronger than the back hand, or the front hand is arranged incorrectly in relation to the others, the arrangement may be considered fouled or invalid.

For beginners, getting this basic structure right is more important than trying to create complicated combinations immediately.

The Back Hand

The back hand contains five cards and should normally hold the strongest combination available within the overall arrangement. Depending on the cards dealt, this could include a Straight, Flush, Full House, Four of a Kind or Straight Flush.

However, simply placing every strong card into the back hand can create another problem: the middle and front hands may become unnecessarily weak.

The real challenge in Mậu Binh is balancing all three hands. Before confirming an arrangement, players should compare the back, middle and front hands to make sure their strength follows the correct sequence.

Important Hand Rankings in Mậu Binh

Many of the five-card combinations used in Mậu Binh follow familiar poker rankings. From weaker to stronger, the main combinations are:

High Card, One Pair, Two Pair, Three of a Kind, Straight, Flush, Full House, Four of a Kind and Straight Flush.

Knowing this ranking makes it easier to assess the 13 cards and identify possible arrangements without repeatedly testing combinations.

Straight

A Straight consists of five cards in consecutive rank, regardless of their suits.

When several connected cards appear, players can check whether they form a Straight without unnecessarily breaking up useful Pairs or Three of a Kind combinations that could strengthen another hand.

The important point is to judge the entire 13-card arrangement rather than creating a Straight simply because one is available.

Flush

A Flush consists of five cards of the same suit that do not need to appear in numerical sequence.

When several cards of the same suit are dealt, a Flush may be possible. However, creating one should not leave the remaining two hands badly unbalanced.

In Mậu Binh, the strength of the complete three-hand arrangement matters more than building one impressive combination while weakening everything else.

Full House

A Full House consists of Three of a Kind together with a Pair in the same five-card hand.

It is a strong combination, but it can also create an interesting arrangement decision. The Three of a Kind and Pair could sometimes be separated to strengthen different hands.

Whether keeping the Full House intact makes sense depends on the strength of the remaining cards. Players should examine the complete structure before settling on an arrangement.

Four of a Kind

Four of a Kind is formed when four cards share the same rank, such as four 8s or four Kings.

It is one of the strongest standard five-card combinations in Mậu Binh. When it appears, the main consideration is where it should be placed while still maintaining valid and reasonably balanced middle and front hands.

Even with a very strong combination, checking the complete 13-card structure remains important.

How to Arrange Mậu Binh Cards More Systematically

Good Mậu Binh arrangement is not simply about gathering the strongest cards into one hand. Players should first examine all 13 cards, identify natural combinations and then determine how those combinations can be distributed across the three hands.

Following a consistent process can also reduce mistakes when the game uses a limited arrangement timer.

Identify Strong Combinations First

After receiving the 13 cards, look for obvious combinations such as:

• Four of a Kind
• Full House
• Flush
• Straight
• Three of a Kind
• Two Pair
• One Pair

Identifying these combinations first provides a clearer picture of the possible arrangements.

From there, players can experiment with distributing the cards between the back, middle and front hands while maintaining the required strength order.

Working from the overall 13-card structure is usually easier than building each hand independently and trying to fix the arrangement afterward.

Check the Order Before Confirming

One of the easiest mistakes in Mậu Binh is creating individually good hands that are placed in the wrong order.

Before confirming the cards, compare all three hands again:

1. Make sure the back hand is stronger than the middle hand.
2. Make sure the middle hand is stronger than the front hand.
3. Check that no useful combination was accidentally overlooked.
4. Confirm that moving a card would not create a better-balanced arrangement.

This final check can prevent an otherwise strong set of cards from becoming invalid because of an arrangement error.

Conclusion

Learning Mậu Binh begins with understanding how 13 cards are divided into three hands and how those hands must be ordered by strength. Straights, Flushes, Full Houses and Four of a Kind can create powerful combinations, but the real challenge is deciding how to distribute them without weakening the overall structure.

By identifying combinations first, balancing the three hands and checking the final order before confirming, players can approach game danh bai Mậu Binh with a clearer understanding of how the game works and avoid many common arrangement mistakes.
